Client summary

The Alberta Recreation & Parks Association (ARPA) is a recognized leader of the recreation and parks sector. Established in 1951, we have continued to support our members by providing opportunities that enhance skills, knowledge and capacity in order to support the delivery of recreation and parks services.

Project summary

The Alberta Recreation & Parks Association wanted a refresh, stepping away from the dated feel of their existing website into a vibrant, creative, and easily navigated redesign. With an abundance of resources for communities and members, we needed to work through creating a structure and design that was clean, accessible, and helped to guide users to the information they needed.

Key Feature

Hero Banner

ARPA has a lot going on and needs their users to see it. We created a slideshow hero section on the homepage to feature up to five important messages. This slideshow integrates a heading, image, description and optional button link. Headline previews along the bottom ensure people see all messages ARPA needs them to see without ever having to scroll through the slides.

Key Feature

Fully custom, on-brand theme

Using elements from their existing brand, we integrated a vibrant new colour palette and patterns to create a cohesive consistent look throughout the site.

Key Feature

Custom Post Types

With many different types of information to share, we decided to develop custom post types and dynamic archives to display and categorize everything in a way that worked best for ARPA and their users including Job Postings, Awards, Programs, and Resources.
